No Country is an island

Synopsis

“No Country Is An Island” is a documentary short that follows a group of activists working to help the victims of the tragic 2019 Sri Lanka Easter Bombings, where terrorists killed over 250 people in coordinated suicide bombings. The group is called Heal Lanka and they’re a collective of Sri Lankan youth who all come from differing religious backgrounds, including Christians, Muslims and Hindus. Sri Lanka is a deeply divided country with a long and violent history of ethnic and religious wars that has claimed the lives of thousands. The members of Heal Lanka must not only work to restore the lives of victims, but try to overcome the prejudice they face as a diverse group in a disjointed society.
